The BBC reported on Bush's surprise visit to Afghanistan where he praised the new democracy. Note that it states that "The US has about 20,000 troops hunting al-Qaeda and Taleban fighters in Afghanistan."
Isn't this an all time high? As I recall, when we were actually fighting the war we had fewer than 10,000 troops in the country. If everything is going so well there, then why do we have so many troops in place?
I have a feeling that the truth is we aren't doing very well there.
